WHC: NSW coal reservation scheme update

WHITEHAVEN COAL LIMITED

Whitehaven Coal has received Directions for Coal Mines from the NSW Government.
From 1 April 2023 to 30 June 2024, Whitehaven's mines will have to provide certain volumes of thermal coal for domestic power stations.
The required volumes must be consistent with the quality that has been supplied to domestic power stations in the last three years.

WHC: NSW coal reservation scheme

WHITEHAVEN COAL LIMITED

The NSW Government is looking to expand its domestic thermal coal reservation policy to include the majority of the State’s coal miners.
The new policy, which is expected to be applied from 1 April 2023 to 30 June 2024, is designed not to impact existing coal supply agreements.
Yesterday, officials from the NSW Government met with Whitehaven Coal to provide an initial briefing on the proposed expansion.
